Schalter provides self-service terminals for Avianca.
Modular equipment will be installed in 23 airports in the country, in 15 states, including the Federal District.
Schalter, a development company, manufacturing and commercializing electronic products, integrated solutions for commercial, banking, industrial and computational automation, has won another competition. This time it is to provide self-service terminals for Avianca, an airline company that provides 200 flights daily to its passengers.
Configured according to the needs of each client, the equipment will be installed in 23 airports of 15 Brazilian states and the Federal District. Among them are those of Juazeiro do Norte, Fortaleza, Natal, João Pessoa, Salvador, Ilhéus, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. “The terminals will facilitate the self-service activities and provide speed and safety when boarding”, claims Mauro Vendemiatti, Product manager. In addition to providing convenience and quality in passenger service, the company was able to achieve significant results: an approximate 35% reduction in waiting time for boarding at peak times.
New machines to be implanted in Avianca are compatible with their Amadeus corporate system, which is in the process of being installed. The same was not the case with the old terminals of the company, which did not have the technical resources capable of meeting the demands of their activities.
Other attributes of the Schalter equipment were considered when the choice was made. They are the design and flexibility in adapting to the existing printer in the company, which avoided a substitution of the machine, providing a reduction in IT costs. “The price and time needed for installment are aggressive and were the major differentials that led us to choosing Schalter as our provider”, argues Vendemiatti. He also points out the high quality of the components of the self-service terminals and the efficient support service by Schalter.
